Since 2019 I’ve worked as a journalist writing articles across a variety of topics and platforms. My work can be found at Herald Sun, Broadsheet, AFL Queensland and Queensland Rugby League.
Moment truckie was told she lost her legs
I spoke to the family of the young truck driver who lost her legs in a horror crash in southwest Victoria. The family spoke of her bravery and will to not give up in the harrowing time. I was the first journo to speak to the family. My relationship with them allowed me to continue the reporting of this story and was replicated across multiple publications.
Behind the poses, the bikinis and the lights bodybuilding is a world of discipline and hard work. I sat down with award-winning bodybuilders and learned why these athletes keep stepping out on stage. The article became the most-read article, gaining 1000s of views.

Chilling attack in Frankston laneway
Local traders lifted the lid on the atmosphere in a grimy Frankston laneway, after an 11-year-old was allegedly stabbed by a group of youths. The article, which shone light on the area dubbed ‘crime central’ by locals, was published on Page 2 of the Herald Sun newspaper.
In 2021, a Phillip Island scientist said the Australian fur seal population fell by 4700 pups since 2007, according to new census findings. This led to a collection of stories revealed the impact of climate change on the coastal town, and sparked conversations online.

How Covid changed Victoria
In 2021, Covid had affected almost every aspect of Victorians’ lives. This article highlighted just how changed the state was using exclusive images. The story remained the most read piece on the Herald Sun website for close to a month. It was also the first article I wrote for the publication.
TW Fine Art
I sat down with Tove Langridge at TW Fine Art gallery on Masters Street in Newstead, to discuss the space and its’ opening show. Langridge took me through the exhibition introducing me to the paintings and the painter, Chris Truman, and how he stumbled upon the brilliant new space.
A Brisbane institution was gutted by fire overnight. The cafe’s co-owner, Maria Anello, told me what it was like to receive a phone call from her daughter in the early hours of the morning, telling her the beloved family business was ablaze.

Emma MacNeill
Ahead of AFL’s Sir Doug Nicholl’s round, I spoke with Indigenous AFLW player Emma MacNeill about what the week means to her and the role sport plays in the path towards inclusion.
“It’s a moment we get to recognise our players, past and present and what the game means to us, it’s about being part of a family,” MacNeill said.
I reported on the opening of the new restaurant Za Za Ta in Ovolo The Valley. I spoke to Executive Chef, Roy Ner, who gave me a look at the joint’s Middle-Eastern and Mediterranean lunch, dinner and late-night menus (which feature house-baked bread, camel steaks and street-style snacks), special events calendar and the layout ahead of its’ opening.
Za Za Ta
This was my first article published with AFL Queensland. It reported Queensland’s footy clubs - Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns - were in the top eight for the first time in AFL history. The story garnered the highest unique reach of any Facebook post for AFL Queensland at the time.
